Accomplishments
During his first term in office, Evan has:
✅ Reduced the school department’s reliance on free cash by nearly $200,000 without cutting the overall budget or reducing services.
✅ Successfully advocated for over $1 million in capital improvement funding over the last three years, addressing important maintenance issues and completing critical upgrades to keep our schools safe.
✅ Supported the addition of reading specialists and other positions to bolster student success.
✅ Worked with our Special Education department and the Parent Advisory Council on ways to better service students in-district.
✅ Collaborated with School Council parent groups at the Macomber, Elementary, and Middle High School on School Improvement Plans.
✅ Added liaison reports to the School Committee meeting agenda to allow Committee members an opportunity to share updates with the public from other town boards.
✅ Worked with our administrators to expand career technical education programming.
✅ Advocated for necessary building improvements at the Middle High School as a member of the School Building Committee.
✅ Supported the Town’s ongoing efforts to review internal financial management as a member of the Audit Committee.
